Edinburgh has its fair share of awesome coffee shops, so how about an awesome tea room?
Eteaket have been blending and serving up fresh pots of lovely, loose leaf tea since 2008. All ethically sourced too.
Their main tea-room/café is located just off George Street at the junction with Frederick Street, and it’s a tea lovers’ paradise! There are over thirty varieties of loose leaf teas available; black, green, white, herbal, flowering, rooibos, tea lattes and even tea cocktails – boozy tea and alcohol concoctions created with the help of local mixologists.
It’s not just liquid refreshment on hand, there is a full café menu available all day from breakfast through to their signature afternoon tea which is highly recommended and can be made even better with the addition of a glass of fizz, or two.
You can buy all their teas to enjoy at home, either in-house or online, along with a wide variety of tea making paraphernalia and assorted tea inspired gifts
The Isle of Harris gin tea is truly unique. A caffeine free mix of botanicals that includes sugar kelp, a variety of seaweed, that is hand harvested off the coast of the Outer Hebrides and which imparts a distinctive flavour and smoothness to this blend. Top tip – brewed, cooled and mixed with tonic water and of course gin makes for a cracking G&T!
They also have a tea ‘concept’ store on nearby Rose Street which in addition to selling all their teas and equipment holds regular tasting masterclasses, ‘Meet the maker’ events and more.
