Le Di-Vin is one of Edinburgh’s best wine bars, and certainly one or our favourites. Located on Randolph Place, just off Queensferry Street, it’s a stylish and sophisticated place which still retains many of the period features and details from its previous life as a Polish church.
There’s a mezzanine level facing you as you enter with a huge, zinc topped bar running nearly the full length of the building to your left. You don’t immediately notice one of the more impressive features, as it’s behind you! Covering the wall above the entrance is a huge black and white mural depicting famous Scottish and French personalities. With Sean Connery, Robert Burns and Mel Gibson’s Braveheart amongst the Scots, you’ll also spy General de Gaulle, Joan of Arc and Marcel Marceau and more.
It’s a wine bar, so naturally the focus is on wine and there is an impressive list of international varieties to choose from, with quite a few available by the glass. There are always a few offers available, giving you a chance to try something slightly more unusual and usually a few good value bin-ends to be had too! If wine is not your tipple then fear not as there is a good range of draft and bottled beers and a well stocked spirit bar too.
If you are feeling peckish then food is available all day with some pretty awesome cheese and charcuterie sharing platters available until late.
